Still life painting enables the student to confront a variety of aspects featured in the art of painting.  
The course focuses on the deconstruction and construction of the still life subject and tackles the special problems associated with this type of painting.
Still life can be divided into a number of components, such as composition and perspective: the relation of a surface’s planes and depths, light and shade, texture, color etc.
Exercise sessions encourage careful thought and consideration of these specific aspects, and the development of imagination, leading eventually to the emergence of independent creativity.
In the course of the studies, the students are shown the uses of limited palettes - with a restricted number of paint colors - as well as full palettes with a wide range of colors.
Short lectures with videos are presented during the course in order to enrich the study program and to expose the students to the potential of additional and more varied influences on their art. To optimize the knowledge gained in the class, a review and critique of the works is presented as a summary of each exercise session.
